Costa del Sol Guide - Cabopino

Cabopino Information

Cabopino is located on the Costa del Sol between Fuengirola and Marbella. Kilometers of sandy beaches with water sports, fishing and sight-seeing, boat trips, excursions to family attractions such as Aquaparks, Theme Parks, Wildlife Parks, cable car rides, and beautifully landscaped 18 hole golf courses, these are just a sample of what's on offer.

The port of Cabopino is a pituresque fishing a leisure port and one of the smallest on the coast.

Beach bars with barbecue areas where just caught fish are cooked are a speciality at Puerto Cabopino. A good range of specialised restaurants are to be found, and there is also a Plaza with a variety of bars, including an Irish bar, the Shebeen. Boat trips along the coast, including visiting the dolphins, and sea fishing are also on offer.

In the immediate area, the Plaza Santa Monica has a friendly mini-market which stocks fresh meats and cheeses, also wine, beer and spirits, and is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 2pm, and 4.30pm to 8pm. In the Plaza there is also a bar, a cafe and an excellent outdoor barbeque restaurant. During the Summer traditional Spanish Flamenco dancing is performed three evenings every week. There is also a mini crazy golf course, specialist Golf Shop and the excellent 18 hole La Siesta and Cabopino Golf Courses are nearby.

Year round golf at some of the 30 landscaped 18 hole courses on the Costa del Sol is a major attraction. In the vicinity you have the 9-hole course adjoining the Hotel Artola which is ideal for practising and for beginners. Near by are the Las Chapas and Cabopino 18 hole courses, and for the younger golfers, mini crazy golf opposite.

Families with children are well catered for on the Costa del Sol. Besides the nearby sandy beach, there are Aquaparks in Fuengirola (10 mins drive) and Malaga (20 mins drive). An excellent Zoo is also to be found at Fuengirola. The Tivoli World Centre in Benalmadena (15 mins drive) is a must for a day out - it has a large area with funfair rides for children of all ages, regular children's musical entertainment, restaurants and bars, and you can take the spectacular cable car ride to the top of the mountain.

Nearer to the area is Funny Beach, on the coast road to Marbella (10 mins drive). This area has go-karting track and will let children over 7 drive round the track on the smaller childrens go-karts. In addition there is a trampoline area, electronic games, and you can go on quad safaris. Selwo is another great attraction for children, it is a large wildlife theme park at Estepona, near Marbella.

Costa del Sol is an ideal centre for visitors wishing to see the historical beauty of Southern Spain. Coach tours regularly visit Gibraltar, Granada, Seville, Ronda and Nerja, and Marbella is just 10 minute's drive, Malaga 20 minutes from Cabopino.
